Below are the details for our fun-filled weekend in Chicago, July 18-20
Hotel Info
- Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk – 301 E North Water St, Chicago IL
- Hotel check in is 4:00pm. Early check in is not guaranteed. If your room is not ready when you arrive, the front desk will store your luggage.
- Watch for rooming list prior to the 4th of July
Bus Info
- Buses are first come first serve
- Bus is for you and one guest
- Based off the JotForm feedback about bus utilization pickups will happen at the following regional offices; it is your responsibility to decide which office you will be picked up at.
- Effingham, Jacksonville, Mahomet, Marion, Mt. Vernon, Sherman
- Bus routes will be posted to this website prior to the 4th of July
- You are welcome to drive yourself; FCI does not reimburse for mileage or parking
- Overnight self-parking is $70.00 + tax per vehicle per night
Friday, July 18
- 4:00pm Employee Meeting – Employee attendance required; ONE adult guest attendance optional. Meeting will be held in the Sheraton 1,2 &3 Ballroom located on level 4
- 4:30pm Social Hour – Employee and ONE adult guest attendance optional. Social hour in the Sheraton 1,2 &3 Ballroom located on level 4
Saturday, July 19 – All Saturday activities are OPTIONAL
- 7:00am-9:30am Breakfast Buffet - make plans for your day with your coworkers at the OPTIONAL breakfast buffet in the Riverwalk 1 Ballroom located on level 1. Reminder that the breakfast buffet is for you and ONE guest.
Sunday, July 20
- 9:00am - Buses depart hotel
- 11:00am - Hotel checkout if you drove yourself
FAQ’s
- Do I have to ride the bus? What if I want to drive myself?
- You are welcome to drive yourself, remember that FCI does not reimburse for mileage or parking. Overnight self-parking is $70.00 + tax per vehicle per night
- Do the buses make pit stops?
- If you wish to stop for a bathroom break or lunch, talk with your bus driver or bus boss.
- Can I bring my child(ren) on the trip?
- Yes! However, the meeting, happy hour, and buses are for adults only (18+). Employees are allowed ONE guest at the breakfast.
- Who pays for what?
- FCI will cover the cost of your hotel room Friday and Saturday nights, drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the social hour, and buffet breakfast at the hotel Saturday morning. FCI provides each employee a spending allowance of $250. You will see the spending allowance in your 7/15 paycheck. These activities are intended for you and ONE guest.
- I need to cancel, change, or confirm my plans. What should I do?

- You can extend your stay but are responsible for the cost of the additional night(s). You can get the Farm Credit rate ($259 per night) 3 days prior to and 3 days after our event dates. Contact Amy Morris to extend your trip.
- What should I wear to the meeting?
- Your party pants! Meeting dress attire is casual.
- What am I required to attend?
- The only event you are required to attend is the meeting Friday evening at 4:00pm (guest attendance is optional). All other activities are optional for both you and ONE guest.
- Do I have to work if I don’t attend the outing?
- Employees who don’t attend still receive a day of annual leave. Please make arrangements with your supervisor to select the date. Additionally, if you don’t attend, you’ll still receive the $250 stipend in your 7/15 paycheck.
- When do I need to sign up for the Summer Outing by?
- If you plan to attend, please be signed up by May 15th.
