November 30, 2018
Abby Hunt, of Buffalo, joined the Taylorville regional office staff team as a sales and service specialist Oct.1. The Taylorville office serves farm families and rural landowners in Christian, Macoupin, and Montgomery Counties.
What do you value most about living and working in Rural America?
I grew up on my family's Sangamon County livestock farm where I gained an interest in showing cattle. In fact, if I picked one job to do on the farm full-time, I would work cattle and wash and dry hair on show cattle. To help others find this passion, I currently serve on the Sangamon County 4-H Foundation.
I enjoy working in rural America and with the people who make a living here. I look forward to getting to know FCI members and their farm or ranch history.
Where did you work before joining FCI?
Previously, I worked with Ag Resource Management in Springfield as a loan analyst and customer experience specialist for a year and a half. Before that I was with Prairieland FS in Jacksonville for three years working as a credit and finance assistant.
What drew you to Farm Credit Illinois and its core purpose of Helping Farm Families Succeed?
FCI's community involvement and desire to help rural America and farmers be successful.
What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?
I played volleyball at Lincoln Land Community College before transferring to Western Illinois University, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in ag business. I'm still involved in the sport where I coach volleyball at Tri-City Junior High - my alma mater.
